RAKSHA BANDHAN

This festival was started by Rabindranath Tagore in 1905, during the partition of Bengal(Bongo Bhongo),
in order to maintain a feeling of Oneness, of Brotherhood, and Unity. From that time forth, we have been celebrating this festival with all its gala and grandeur.

Raksha Bandhan is the day in which we bless our brother and wish for their prosperity in life. They in turn, with the rakhi, promises to protect us forever.

The Rakhi is said to be a symbol of protection.

Nowadays we celebrate it in a grand way, decorating the houses, giving gifts, prepearing tasty dishes,

Here are some ideas on how you can celebrate this wonderful day:

GIFTS:

Zodiac Mugs, Music/ Movie CDs, Watches, showpieces, candle stands, cards, Perfumes, T-shirts, wind chimes and anything that your brother likes.

FOOD:

As far as eatables are concerned, different types sweets are preferred

DESSERTS:

Rasgullas, ladoos, custard, kheer, peda, etc

MESSAGES:

For sisters who's brothers don't live with them, they can send a nice message for them via e-card or post, conveying their blessings and love. Every brother should know how much their sisters miss them and it is important for every sister to know that their brothers are always their for them.

HAPPY RAKSHA BANDHAN!!
